GOVERNMENT SCHEME: WORKPLACE CHARGING SCHEME (WCS)
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based programme that helps eligible businesses, charities, and public sector organisations cover the upfront costs of purchasing and installing EV chargepoints. The grant can cover up to 75% of total costs (including VAT), capped at £350 per socket and 40 sockets per applicant across all sites.
For schools, the support is even greater, with up to £2,500 per socket available, still covering 75% of purchase and installation costs and up to 40 sockets across all sites. This makes installing EV charging points at educational and industrial properties more affordable and accessible.
OZEV APPROVED CONTRACTORS
Successful applicants of the Workplace Charging Scheme receive a unique reference code, which Wayre House can redeem on your behalf. As OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) approved contractors, we can guide you through the government grant application and ensure all requirements are met.
All installations must be completed within six months of the voucher issue date. Our team provides professional, compliant, and timely EV charger installations for schools, warehouses, and other commercial properties, making the process simple and hassle-free.
HOW MUCH YOU CAN CLAIM
The government Workplace Charging Scheme helps cover the costs of both the EV charging infrastructure and the chargepoints themselves. For commercial properties, this means up to £350 per socket is available to help with the purchase and installation of each chargepoint.
The total funding cannot exceed 75% of the overall installation costs, with a maximum grant amount of £30,000 per applicant. This support makes it more affordable for schools, warehouses, and other commercial properties to provide reliable EV charging for staff, visitors, or fleet vehicles.
